Your Ancestors walked approximately 40 miles/day. They would either Walk, Jog or Run in-order to hunt, travel & gather resources.


And here you are…


Hopping on your vehicle to even go to the grocery store which is literally 300 meters away, lol.


You strive for a comfortable life, which is not a bad thing…


But you fail to realize that this “comfort” is slowly taking away your ‘peace of mind’.


The sedentary lifestyle of a modern corporate professional is slowly leading them towards:-


  1. Stress

  2. Anxiety

  3. Hair loss

  4. Insomnia

  5. Frustration

  6. Depression

  7. Weight gain

  8. Clouded Mind

  9. Lack of Confidence

  10. Poor cognitive abilities

  11. Physical pain i;e Back pain, stiff body, joint pain etc.


And the list goes on & on…


At this point I can even write a Rap on the problems inactivity brings.




But instead of writing a Rap, I’ve decided to drop a blog on why it’s crucial for YOU to MOVE more often.


THE SOLUTION IS SO SIMPLE, YOU’D FEEL STUPID TO ‘NOT’ DO IT!


 

SEDENTARY LIFESTYLE.


Humans have NEVER been so sedentary in the history of mankind.


Modern day desk job is considered to be a blessing as it brings comfort… but is it truly a blessing?


Things have only gotten worse since COVID-19. Quarantine & Work from Home made people lose their SANITY!


By this point you’re consciously, unconsciously or subconsciously aware that sitting for prolonged periods leads to:-


  1. Back pain

  2. Muscle stiffness

  3. Postural deviations


You may also notice how your body naturally signals you to either Stretch or Get up & move around after sitting for 30-60mins.


  • You ignore minor Physical Ailments.

  • You ignore minor Mental Ailments.

  • You ignore minor Signs to Move.



Your ignoration to these minor cues leads to MAJOR problems down the line.


Common problems these days are:-


  1. Stress

  2. Anxiety

  3. Insomnia

  4. Depression

  5. Weight gain

  6. Physical pain


All of these problems can easily be tackled by adding MORE MOVEMENT in your life!


YOU WERE MEANT TO MOVE… A LOT!


And I will prove it to you by using the example of those who came before us…


 

PURVAJ (ANCESTORS).


I would like you to go back in time & think about our Ancestors


They were Hunters & Gatherers, that’s how they survived.


They would walk, jog or run mile after mile without breaking a sweat.


They performed movements which you can only dream of effortlessly, such as:-


  1. Jumping

  2. Crawling

  3. Climbing

  4. Sprinting

  5. Swimming


Can you perform all the above mentioned movements/activities?

  • 0%Yes

  • 0%No


They lived a lifestyle which our human body was Biologically designed for.


  • They were Spiritual Masters. They had the ability to Sense Danger & Stay Calm under pressure.


  • They would Sleep & Recover according to the natural Circadian Rhythm (more on it in future posts).


  • They were super communicators because their survival relied on forming tribes.


  • They ate Whole Foods, which means no BS processed food that we get today.


  • They had a very FUNCTIONAL & AESTHETIC physique.


The point I’m trynna make is that…


It’s in our DNA to:-


  1. Be Very Active.

  2. Be Mentally Resilient.

  3. Be Effective Communicators.


Your Ancestors strived so hard to get you to the point you are at right now…


Don’t make them FROWN UPON YOU...


By choosing a Lazy & Easy life which will eventually make you a lifeless zombie.


NOTE: I’m going to mention SIMPLE & very effective ways to bring massive change in your life. YOU just have to Trust the Process & Believe in Yourself. Quitters never win, Winners never QUIT!

 


WHY MOVEMENT IS CRUCIAL…


As I mentioned earlier, you were biologically designed to move a lot.


Living a sedentary lifestyle stores a lot of Positive & Negative energies (mostly negative) within you in the form of:-


  • Thoughts

  • Emotions

  • Feelings

  • Desires


The reason I say you store more negative energy is because we as humans are psychologically wired to naturally place a lot of emphasis on 'negativity' than positivity. If someone praises you, you forget about it in a day or two. But if someone insults you, it stays for a very long time within your system. It takes days, weeks, months or even years in some cases to get over that instance. ~~You can change this 'negative' mindset & become a very OPTIMISTIC person (more on it in a future blog).

If you do not deal with these energies, they slowly turn into major issues such as Anxiety, Stress & Depression.


As these major issues slowly creep into your life, you will start developing other problems such as:-


  1. Poor communication skills

  2. Physical & Mental Illness

  3. Poor Cognitive Abilities

  4. Imbalanced Hormones

  5. Massive Mood Swings

  6. Poor Immune System

  7. Lack of Confidence

  8. Trouble Sleeping

  9. Clouded Mind

  10. Lack of Clarity

  11. Nervousness

  12. Weight Gain

  13. Frustration

  14. Nail Biting

  15. Hair loss

  16. Bloating

  17. Chaos

  18. Guilt

  19. Fear


These problems can easily be tackled by just WALKING!


TIP: If you wanna reach the optimal version of yourself, just play your favorite sport (ideally team sport) twice a week.

 

WALK!


Now, kindly understand that I am not going to ask you to:-


  • Run marathons.

  • Climb mountains.

  • Go hardcore in the gym.

  • Get on a crazy unsustainable diet.

  • Swim from one country to another.


I've done it ALL! (except for swimming to another country, lol)


Walking is all you need in YOUR life…


Walking is so damn easy…


That you may think it’s ‘too good to be true’ to solve all your Physical, Mental & Psychological problems.

As you can see, I’m a WALK-O-HOLIC!


I love walking since I was a kid, Thank God I was born in the 90s…


‘No Mobile Phones, No WIFIs,

Just my Friends & a lot of Hi 5s!’


~I told ya I can Rap!~


I was born & brought up in the Kingdom of Bahrain


Me & my friends would walk City to City from a very young age!


**Now back to present day…


I average around 25-35k steps daily.


I’ve lost 25 kgs in the past 6-8 months by literally just walking & eating according to the calories I’ve burnt.


On my best days I walk around 50k steps…

On my worst days I walk around 15k steps…


I’ve managed to design a lifestyle where I’m able to successfully hit my walking goal daily.


Walking has singlehandedly changed the dynamics of my life.


By just walking, I’ve been able to:-


  1. Lose 25 kgs in 6-8 months with Ease.

  2. Gain mental & psychological clarity.

  3. Easily remove toxins from my body.

  4. Recover from past physical injuries.

  5. Improve awareness & mindfulness.

  6. Connect with myself spiritually.

  7. Gain info on my favorite topics.

  8. Recover from digestive Issues.

  9. Recover from past Traumas.

  10. Live the Life of my Dreams.

  11. Sleep peacefully at night.


I’ve somehow tried to encapsulate the Physical, Mental, Psychological & Spiritual benefits of walking in this short segment.

How to Begin…


Keep it real Simple & Basic guys.


Your Body & Mind has been conditioned a certain way for days, weeks, months & years.


Forcing yourself to DO too much at once will only result in a CRASH! (ask me, I've made this same mistake AGAIN & AGAIN!)


Understand that your Body, Mind & Soul is a PROJECT and YOU are the ENGINEER.


Don’t expect yourself to suddenly switch into a completely different person.


It’s like watering a Plant, it does not grow into a tree in a couple of days.


It first strengthens its roots, the growth happens under the soil first.


Same way, you gotta strengthen yourself from within, by slowly & gradually reaching your 'BodyMind' goals.


WALKING is the most efficient & effective way to align your Body, Mind & Soul.


YOU will gradually TRANSFORM into the optimal version of yourself.


STEP 1: Make a Plan


If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail! - Benjamin Franklin
  • Invest in a small pocket-sized notebook (physically writing has good psychological effect on the brain).

  • Plan on how many steps you set to achieve DAILY.


  • It could be 10k, 12k or 15k. Choose the desired goal as per your lifestyle.


  • Complete your step goal DAILY! (It’s REALLY EASY!). Mention your step count in the book.


  • In the little notebook, Mention:-


    1. How you are feeling.


    2. Your daily achievement.


    3. What is your true purpose.


    4. What your Future Self looks & feels like.


    5. What is your relation with Higher Intelligence (God).


    6. What kinds of self-conversations you have with yourself.


BE CREATIVE!


Please note that YOU are creatively different from everyone around you. MY purpose is to lead you to the path of MOVEMENT & a better version of yourself Physically, Mentally, Psychologically, Socially & Spiritually... But it's up to you on how you can creatively add your own spice in every endeavor you take on.

STEP 2: Add Progression


  • Don’t get stuck in the comfort zone, human psyche loves challenges which it can endure!


  • Slowly add more challenges like:-


    1. Increasing your step count.


    2. Getting out of your chair more often.


    3. Climbing stairs instead of using an elevator.


  • Master walking by adding meditation, mindfulness & self-conversations.


  • Work on building a Mental Fortitude.


I’m pretty damn sure YOU will NAIL IT!


~~Then slowly integrate your favorite sport (preferably team sport for improving communication skills & other crucial skills).


STEP 3: Share Your Progress!


  • You can send me your achievements on Instagram (@BeYouniqueSelf).


  • Having an accountability partner provides a sense of duty to complete your goals.


  • I will share your results which may INSPIRE countless more who want to transform.


PLEASE NOTE: These ‘steps’ are more than enough to see significant changes within yourself in just a couple of weeks. I would highly recommend to start developing a WRITING habit too, it will fill a lot of thinking gaps in your mind. ~~MORE ON WRITING IN FUTURE BLOGS~~
 

PLAY!


Wanna reach the OPTIMAL VERSION of yourself...?


PLAY! Yes, you read that right!


Remember when you were a lil kid…?


You could play for hours upon hours without catching a breath!


Kinda' proves my point that YOU WERE MEANT TO MOVE A LOT!


On a daily basis, you’ve managed to build up a lot of STRESS within you due to:-


  1. Unchecked Physical stress.

  2. Unchecked Mental stress.

  3. Relationships.

  4. Work Life.

  5. Poor Diet.


When you play, you release a Hormone called Endorphin.


Endorphin is created in the Pituitary Gland in your Brain.


~~Bonus tip for absolutely no reason: Apparently Pituitary Gland is your 3rd eye


A well developed Pituitary Gland results in better Awareness & improved Mindfulness.


Releasing Endorphins on a regular basis benefits you in numerous ways such as:-


  1. Decrease in Weight.

  2. Decrease in Anxiety.

  3. Decrease in Depression.

  4. Increased Awareness Levels.

  5. Increased Confidence Levels.


This is the main reason why kids are always so ENERGETIC, JOYFUL & FULL OF HARMONY.


They live a life without any stress, anxiety or depression (until ofcourse they grow up & life hits them, therefore I always train my kids at the academy 'Mentally' as well)


 

WHY PLAYING IS IMPORTANT... MY STORY...


My Coaching career began in January of 2024, before that I was in the Hospitality industry for 10 years.


I will mention more about Myself & my Life in the “About Me” section soon…

I love Hospitality, but later realized I'll never achieve freedom (something that you want deep down as well)...


I wanted a way out, and finally realized Football & Fitness is the way to go...


I started playing football again & it completely changed my LIFE!


I never looked back since...


All the built up stress, anxiety, depression & stiffness throughout the years started to fade away...


HOW!?


Cause I started releasing a lot of Endorphins.


I started feeling like a new person altogether, but it was a gradual change...


All the problems that I've listed in this Blog post, I've experienced it all, I've felt it...


  • I’ve lived a Life with Sleepless Nights

  • I've lived a Life with a Clouded Mind

  • I've lived with Poor Cognitive Ability

  • I've lived a Life without Purpose

  • I've lived a Life Full of Anxiety

  • I've lived an Unconfident Life

  • I've lived a Depressed Life

  • I've lived a Sedentary Life

  • I've lived a Stressful Life


I'm not yapping all of these things theoretically...


I'm a Human being too, just like You...


I don't want you to unnecessarily go through what I've been through...


I don't want you to go through these feelings especially when the SOLUTION IS EASY!


I wanna save your time & GIVE YOU THE BEST LIFE CHANGING ADVICE.


It's your MIND that plays tricks on you…


Your mind makes it seem like everything is difficult…


Because you've conditioned yourself that way throughout your life!


I've been there…


~But now you can sit down, drink water & RELAX!


I GOTCHA HOMIE!


I will talk more about the transformations I’ve made throughout the years in my future blogs. I’ve tried & tested literally everything your mind can fathom in terms of various Exercise Regimes & Diet plans.

 

Focus Is A Skill, That Can Be Developed...


Ability to Focus is an Art these days…


A lot of people may not have made it this far…


If YOU did...


CONGRATS! You are the Special One!


You & I are so distracted to the point that we’re tired of it!


You & I are striving to attain the ability to Focus at will!


As Working Professionals & Students, it is absolutely crucial to have the ability to Focus.


We do not get stressed because of the hard work we put in, the hard work actually helps us Grow


We get stressed because we AVOID the work that has to be done (procrastination)


One of the major reasons we avoid working is LACK of FOCUS!


You may 'know' the 'solutions' to achieve Focus, but these solutions feel like a ‘chore’.


Focus is a skill that can be developed in various ways:-


  1. Yoga.

  2. Meditation.

  3. Reading Books.

  4. Listening to Podcasts.

  5. Watching long form content.


These habits may be kinda ‘boring’ to start with…


As I said, ‘Chores’…


So what can you do instead?


Play a team sport like Football, Basketball, Volleyball or Handball etc.


The reason I’m asking you to play a team sport is because not only will it help you become brilliant at FOCUSING…


But to also become better at:-


  1. Accountability.

  2. Leadership Skills.

  3. Communication Skills.

  4. Understanding Responsibilities.

  5. Understanding Social Dynamics.


Above mentioned skills are not just important ‘on’ the pitch, but also ‘off’ the pitch! At Work, Home, School, College & Social Gatherings...

Playing your favorite sport doesn’t feel like a ‘chore’.


You will look forward to each & every session…


Playing a sport improves your ability to tap into FLOW STATE!


Flow State is a phenomena where you lose sense of Time as you are completely engaged & Focused in the Task at hand. I will make a separate blog post on it. It's very important for working professionals & students to attain Flow States in a world FULL OF DISTRACTIONS!

When you play your favorite sport…


You lose track of time…


You are completely indulged in the activity


Once you learn the ability to tap into Flow States…


Your Work life or Studying life will become Effortless.


I will make another blogpost on the 'Numerous Benefits' of playing sports.

Next Step…


  • Form a group of friends or colleagues & play football at least once or twice a week.


  • If you haven’t got a group, look for a circle in your local area that plays regularly.


  • If there’s nothing related to football in your area, then consider other sports too!


 

TO SUM EVERYTHING UP…


  • Add movement in your sedentary lifestyle.


  • Stop being in the comfort zone.


  • Just WALK & PLAY!
